Adam

“Adam” is a middle-class working man living in Afghanistan. He is Hazara, which is an ethnic group deeply despised by the Taliban. One day his family was living in peace. The next day, everything changed. The Taliban overturned the government sending the entire nation into disarray. Men were pulled into the common area and shot one after the next…

When Adam (a father to five) heard his sister and brother-in-law were killed by the Taliban, he sent for his six nephews and nieces to be brought to him. He would care for these orphans like they were his own children. The Taliban were knocking on doors every night looking for young girls to marry, Christians, Hazaras. He and his family were in hiding and had to move their location every few days so they would not be found by the Taliban. They were so afraid for their lives that in the rush to evacuate, they left everything behind including even shoes for the children. Their lives were in great danger. Adam was terrified for the families’ safety. Day after day, he led their family to a new hiding spot. They spent several days homeless and under a bridge waiting for help to come.

Now with the burden to care for all these children, Adam sought refuge and help. In an attempt to get provision, two people left to get food and never returned.

Our organization was able to provide clothing for Adam and his family so they wouldn’t be discovered as Hazara. Adam’s family has been displaced, hungry, on the run, and afraid for his life and the lives of all these kids. Adam has given up everything to save his life and the lives of his family.

Today, our organization is helping Adam escape. Our guide even stopped by the bazaar with Adam and bought everyone who needed them shoes.

Adam, his wife, and the remaining children are just a few of the refugees who need a sponsor.

The following pictures are these people. Their faces were masked, they are not yet out of danger where they are.

Help someone like Adam find a safe home.

 Matthew 25: 37-40

Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’
